Twice As Green

From Envirowiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Twice As Green is an environmental program created by World Vision Australia. The program has been developed as an easy way to help change the lives of some of the world’s poorest children and help the environment at the same time.

On behalf of supporters, World Vision will work with communities to plant trees and carry out re-vegetation projects. These projects will revive barren land, so communities living in poverty can restore farmland, grow enough food and improve their environment.

The trees planted will also absorb the greenhouse gases (CO2) that are causing global warming around the world.

World Vision has always worked with communities living in poverty to build sustainable environments. But the need is much greater now because of climate change. The Twice As Green program will help more communities equip themselves to survive in rapidly changing environments.
