Rising Tide is an international, informal network of grassroots community groups taking action on climate change. The groups do not actually organise together, but generally (but not always) agree with each other's aims and philosophies - (with a commitment to non-violence and direct action, and a heavy emphasis on the power of community and loosely anarchist or social-libertarian methods of organising).

Rising Tide UK was formed in 2003. Another group formed in Newcastle, Australia, and also took up the name Rising Tide, without previous knowledge of the UK group, they are now known as Rising Tide Newcastle. Since then, an informal network has evolved, there is now a solid group (network?) in North America Rising Tide North America, and groups have started, with varying degrees of success, in Sydney, and Perth.
