Peter Andrews
From Envirowiki
Peter Andrews was the subject of a double episode of Australian Story in 2005, called "Of Droughts and Flooding Rains". He is the somewhat founder/rediscoverer of natural sequence farming, a method of re-invigorating depleted, drought stricken, and salinated farmland.
After viewing natural formations in flooded paddocks, Andrews came to the conclusion that these formations slowed down the water flows, and allowed the water to soak into the soil. Andrews also realised that weeds act as colonisers, immediately stabilising soil, preventing erosion, and building up organic content in soils.
