Links between Anarchism and Environmentalism
From Envirowiki
Anarchism is an extremely old political tradition, in which it is argued that the best form of organisation for society is a non-hierarchical system, in which participants attempt to come to agreement on issues, rather than force things to happen one way through power imbalances. Anarchism has been much maligned in recent history, especially by the right, which often focuses on Leadership, and Rule.
Environmentalism is a political theory that argues that we must work for the environment, not against it, as we currently do in contemporary society. It is a relatively new theory, although it also draws philosophies from primitive cultures. Modern environmentalism could be thought to have begun around the end of the 19th century, with writers like Henry Thoreau.

anarchy and environmentalism could be linked via a liberationist philosophy of some sort? such that environmentalism liberates from environmental damage/exploitation
There is an anti-hierarchy link, where the bottom of the hierarchy should have the majority of the power, or the hierarchy should be made horizontal. environmentalism can be explained via anti-heirarchy theory as:
- Bosses > peasants > animals,
or rather:
- boss > worker, human > nature
both have extreme power relations

the link between anarchism and environmentalism would include non-heirarchical relationships, that we live in harmony within the environment. As opposed to using the environment as our toilet and slave.
basically, it would come down to respect for the oppressed, but how to not oppress in the first place?
- give back, not just take? symbiotic relationships, rather than parasitic?
