Environmentalist
From Envirowiki
An environmentalist is someone who practices environmentalism. This usually mean political action, such as lobbying, public awareness raising, or direct action, but it can also mean personal action such as organic gardening to reduce food miles, or riding a bicycle so as no to emit greenhouse gases.
Environmentalists support the conservation and/or enhancement of Earth’s natural environment. They are often concerned with the amount of pollution produced from new or existing technologies, the rate of population growth, and the use of the Earth’s natural resources. Within the social science discipline, “environmentalist” refers to any theory that stresses the significance of environmental factors in the development of society and culture.
