Climate is the name given to all permanent meteorological functions and patterns combined (ie. the entire meteorological system). The climate of a place includes patterns of wind, rain, cloud cover, humidity/aridity, temperature, storms, etc. Climate can refer to and scale or place, from the global climate to the local. The climate is affected by solar radiance and climate factors external to the region, and is a function of the second law of thermodynamics, where a constant input of energy stabilises and creates order in an apparently random system. The domain of the climate is the atmosphere, and parts of the hydropshere

Earth's climate is currently undergoing climate change outside of natural climate variation: Anthropogenic climate change, which is caused largely to humanity pouring large quantities of greenhouse gasses, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and sulfur dioxide and CFCs into the atmosphere, through industrial processes, fossil fuel burning, and agriculture.
